As a young born again child of God, the zeal and passion for the things of God literally overwhelmed me. I developed great desire to see that God’s agenda prevailed against all odds, and that people are liberated from the shackles of the devil.
After being filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, my quest to know God’s will and purpose for me, became unbearable. This led me to prayerfully read the book Plan, Purpose and Pursuit by Kenneth E. Hagin, in a bid to uncover God’s purpose for my life. Upon reading this book, it happened that on the 13th June, 1993 after long hours of praying and asking God why He created me, at about 2am, God came to me and told me why I was created. Among the many things He said, one is to serve Him as a pastor and shepherd over His people.
This encounter led me to first become an Intercessor, praying and interceding for people, the church and nations. Sometimes I could lock myself up for days just to intercede. It later graduated into aggressive evangelism and soul winning. The passion and desperate desire to serve God and fulfill purpose facilitated my then local assembly (Deeper Life Bible Church) to appoint me a Home Cell leader. My effectiveness in successfully leading and planting over 12 Home Cells by the mercies of God, made me to rise to the post of an Area Cell Leader, when God came to me again, telling me to relocate to my next phase of development.
The Call into Full Time Ministry came on this fateful 19th day of November, 1998. As a then staff of First Bank of Nigeria, Kaduna, I was on my duty post this fateful day when the Lord came to me again in an audible voice, confirming to me that the time has finally come to step into full time ministerial duties. I immediately tendered my resignation letter to First Bank of Nigeria Ltd. Kaduna and within a month, I left. God led me specifically to Sokoto at God’s Own Bible Church under the leadership of Apostle Alexander Jegede, where my journey began on the 29th December, 1998. Having served in the Head Quarter church at Sokoto for 5years, I was redeployed to Kaduna in 2003 to start up a branch, which took off on 7th January, 2004.
It was while I was serving faithfully in the Kaduna state branch of the ministry that, God came to me again. This time asking me to launch into the assignment He has given me and pioneer the work He has placed into my hands. I prayerfully submitted my letter of resignation in order to be able to answer God’s call upon my life to start an outreach. But after waiting patiently for 3years, 1month and 1day, I was eventually released by God’s servant Apostle Alexander Jegede on the 16th November, 2009.
God immediately took me to Abuja where we began a monthly outreach programme on the 7th January, 2010. This outreach programme of the ministry Church of Christ Healing Ministry continued successfully until October, 2010 when God came again. This time He said “It is time to start a church in Kaduna”. It was a mixed feeling, as God was already helping with massive exploits and results in Abuja in our outreach programmes. But we had to obey His Voice, and precisely on the 5th December, 2010 Church of Christ Healing Ministry was inaugurated in Kaduna by God’s servant Rev. Samson Ozovehe (Senior Pastor Gilgal Christian Assembly, Abuja, Poineer Nigeria at the Garden Tomb, Israel), at Lourdes School Building, Libya Street, Barnawa. Kaduna state, Nigeria. And to the glory of God, within three (3) years of its existence, the Church by the mercies of God erected a little structure at the first phase of her Headquarters at Church Crescent, Before NNPC Water Intake, Ungwan Maigero. Kaduna. Nigeria.
